About Dr. Khokhar

Dr. Khokhar was born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana. After graduating from the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts, he came to Houston to begin his premedical training. Dr. Khokhar graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rice University. Subsequently, he completed medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. Most of his internship was spent at Ben Taub General Hospital before beginning his residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch. During his residency, Dr. Khokhar received surgical training in LASIK from internationally recognized pioneers in the field. Dr. Khokhar performed LASIK surgery at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital before establishing his own LASIK clinic in Sugar Land.

Dr. Khokhar is an acclaimed educator instructing young physicians as they rotate with him at Sugarland Eye & Laser Center. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, the Harris County Medical Society, and the Houston Ophthalmic Society. Dr. Khokhar volunteers in the local community and enjoys speaking to local organizations about eye health issues. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife Amber and his two daughters, Sara and Saniyah.
